How long does delivery to Azerbaijan take?
A parcel from Italy to Azerbaijan arrives in 10–15 days. It travels as an international postal item by EMS express mail and is handed to the recipient by a courier — no queuing at a depot on their side. Around peak periods (especially December), customs at the destination can add a few days. How to send a parcel: step by step
- Leave a request on bpd-express.it or write to us on WhatsApp.
- Get the drop-off address. We are building out a network of drop-off points across Southern Italy — Campania, Calabria, Sicily, Puglia. If there is no point near you yet, we send a free shipping label and you hand the box in at your nearest Poste Italiane office.
- Pack it right. A sturdy cardboard box sealed with tape — no travel bags (they tear during sorting, and insurance does not cover that). Put a printed packing list inside: each item with quantity and approximate value in euros. Send us the same list on WhatsApp — no Italian needed, we translate it ourselves.
- We handle the paperwork. The CN23 customs declaration, the export documents, the invoice — all prepared by us based on your packing list. You do not fill in a single form.
- Pay after the final weigh-in. The price is calculated from the actual weight at the drop-off point. Payment in euros only: Visa / Mastercard, Apple Pay, SEPA transfer or cash.
- Track it. You get a tracking number starting with “b…” on WhatsApp, and status updates follow automatically: accepted, in transit, cleared customs, delivered. You can also enter the number in the tracking form in the header of our website.
What you can send — and what you can’t
You can send: clothes and shoes, cosmetics and sealed perfume (up to 500 ml), children’s items, books, souvenirs, household goods — and food.
Food rules: up to 5 kg of food per parcel, non-perishable only. Cheese and cured meats — prosciutto, salami, speck — are welcome, but only vacuum-sealed: the parcel spends about two weeks on the road without refrigeration, and without vacuum packaging the product simply won’t survive the trip. If in doubt about a specific product, ask on WhatsApp before you pack.
You can’t send: alcohol and tobacco, weapons, prescription medicines, lithium batteries shipped separately from devices, cash and securities, liquids other than sealed perfume, and perishables without vacuum packaging.
Customs in Azerbaijan: will the recipient pay duty?
Azerbaijan is not part of the EAEU, so its own national duty-free limits apply — they differ from the €200 / 31 kg rule that applies across the EAEU (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia). Every parcel is automatically insured up to €100 — the cover includes loss and transport damage, and compensation is paid according to your packing list. Shipping something more valuable? Extended cover costs €1 for every additional €100 of declared value, up to a maximum of €2,000.
In practice, claims are rare: the parcel goes door to door without being handed off to third-party carriers, and the loss rate is under 1%.
